The early Christian church was one of the greatest patrons of the arts, so we believe that it is natural that today both artists and observers find the church as home to the arts and a place to hear God’s voice through artistic expression. For 43 years, First United Methodist Church has presented its annual "Celebration of the Arts", one of the largest juried spiritual art shows in the U.S. Works have included artists from many faith and spiritual traditions.

The B.O.B. (an acronym for Big Old Building) is located in downtown Grand Rapids. The 70,000-square-foot, four- story, red brick building was constructed in 1903 as Judson's grocery warehouse. It stood vacant for decades before The Gilmore Collection began its transformation, saving it from demolition. Its casual appeal, large size and historic charm have given The B.O.B. landmark / destination status in downtown Grand Rapids. Ambitious, expansive, and versatile, The B.O.B. offers a uniquely personal experience for every guest who walks through the door.

Our venue is situated on Monroe Center which is a heavy traffic area downtown Grand Rapids. We have three possible window locations that an artist could select from to feature their piece. The photo's attached were taken awhile ago. I hope to have new ones soon without so much glare. We previously had an awning over the windows which created shadows. That has now been removed for a brighter viewing area.
