The Harris Building is a part of Grand Rapids history. Built in 1892, it replaced the original Grand Rapids Brewing Company and was the home of the Harris Furniture Company and the lodge for the local Knights of Pythias. Today, it houses a number of companies that work together to create a comfortable, welcoming space perfect for events, coworking, and exploring your creative potential. Under new ownership since 2017, the Harris Building has invested significantly in reconstruction and renovation to get ready for the growth in Downtown GR. This year, we are proud to present “Our Reflections”, a themed ArtPrize exhibit that tells a narrative surrounding our very human tendency to view the world through each other’s eyes. These brilliant artist’s pieces challenge what we believe is human - joy, curiosity, fear, fragility, loneliness - and how we can renew our views from unique experiences. We hope what you see here brings you new perspectives on our unified human journey.
