Marking over 100 years of service to the Grand Rapids metropolitan community, WMU is deeply committed to the Fine Arts. The Fine Arts are a culturally important area for higher education and the communities we serve. The University’s art collection (conservatively valued above $3.5 million), includes drawings, paintings, prints, textiles, sculptures and ceramics that engender awareness and appreciation of the visual arts while enriching our lives in many subtle and under-appreciated ways. The Frostic School of Art, Department of Dance, School of Music, and the Department of Theatre together form the College of Fine Arts at WMU – a center dedicated to future-oriented creative excellence. WMU provides interdisciplinary opportunities to visual and performing artists in innovative spaces that foster the creation, exhibition, and study of art. Small Post Office Boxes will make up this official venue located at the United States Postal Service - Ledyard Station, 120 Monroe Center NW. PO (Art)Box is specializing in small artwork since scale is often a majority factor in ArtPrize entries. Curator Sierra Cole says, "We all know that ArtPrize is about having a conversation about art, we just feel that most of the time that conversation revolves around large scale works of art. We want to flip that conversation and talk about how small works of art are just as viable as large scale works. They are just as challenging, time consuming, and complex as their large counterparts." PO (Art)Box will be viewable from a custom made outdoor mailbox bank that will be located just outside the Ledyard Post Office.

We are honored to have our second Grand Rapids location in the historical Michigan Trust Building. Once touting the title “tallest building in Michigan," this downtown landmark has been a cornerstone of classic design and rich history. We’ve preserved the historical nature of the building while transforming it into a relevant and functional space. Featuring maple and dark walnut wood tones, quartz countertops and modern light fixtures, the space provides a convenient and cozy workspace within the city. Steps away from museums, shopping, and local venues, we have settled into the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether you’re grabbing a quick cup of coffee on your way to work or holding a meeting later in the day, we look forward to serving you here.

We are Michigan’s PREMIER restaurant specializing in authentic BBQ. We proudly serve handcrafted BBQ powered by our 100% wood powered smokers. We have no stove, no oven, no flat-tops, no deep friers, its either cooked in our smoker or its served cold. Founded in 2015 by Pitmaster Dean Sparks, Sparks BBQ has quickly become the leader in authentic BBQ in all of Michigan and likely further. Sparks is a self taught pitmaster learning in his backyard and through years of practice and dedication he has perfected the craft of BBQ. In 2015 he decided to take it on the road, literally, with a mobile pit style bbq food trailer in downtown Traverse City. After just one season of operations with its overwhelming support from the community he then moved operations inside at 439 E. Front Street, Traverse City in early 2016. As demand increased Sparks BBQ quickly outgrew their first location and moved to a much larger location in downtown Traverse City at 201 E. Front Street in June 2018.
