I went to school for photography and darkroom, began photographing and exibiting in regional shows and a gallery in Saugatuck. My passion has always been nature and its patterns, colors and design. I also enjoy the black and white medium, as I feel it gives the viewer the best display of details and contrast in a subject. My appetite for artistic exploration led me to take classes in watercolor. Soon after, I started painting frequently and experimenting with various mixed mediums. My passion, again is nature and more importantly the flowers in my garden. I have exhibited in Festival of the Arts, local galleries and several group and regional shows. My background is in Horticulture, so I enjoy painting the flowers I grow and the gardens I care for. I like to paint my subjects close up and large in order for the viewer to see deeper into the subject. This allows them to see shapes and details they might otherwise overlook. We go hurriedly through life looking straight ahead, thus missing so many great things around us. I have always allowed for time to look around, time to look back to see what I may have missed and time to look ahead for new opportunities. "Study Nature, Love Nature, Stay Close To Nature. It Will Never Fail You" - Frank Lloyd Wright
