Graphite artist Sue Ellison grew up drawing and painting and obtained a degree in Art Education. She loves the simplicity of drawing using humble materials, only a pencil and paper, aspiring to create heart felt images that connect with the viewer. Recently she has been working on a series of urban and industrial drawings that examine the complexity of these environments. She loves nature and in 2016 served as an Artist in Residence for the National Parks. Sue exhibits extensively throughout the region and recent exhibitions include but are not limited to: Masters of Drawing: From Classic Realism to Abstraction, Art Prize, Great Lakes Drawing Biennial, Muskegon Museum of Art Regional Exhibition, Greater Michigan Exhibition, the Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts Regional Exhibition, and The Imagine Show at Texas State University. This is her fifth year participating in Art Prize.
These are Susan's official ArtPrize entries from this year and past years.
