His work is inspired by art, nature, architecture, stories, philosophy, religion. Also by his living environment. His work moves between realism and symbolism. He does not pretend a style but chooses an expression that fits the subject. Sjaak Kaashoek (1961) is full time professional painter and printmaker living and working in Nijmegen (the Netherlands). He studied drawing and painting at Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Amsterdam) and Artez (Constantijn Huygensacademie) in Kampen (NL) and graduated at both academies.
