I am an acrylic and watercolor artist. I have grown up always painting, with a brush in one hand and paint all over the other. I learned at a very young age how to paint from my grandma, she is a brilliant artist. I have always loved art but took a break from it after I studied it in college for a short time. Feeling burnt out, I went almost two years without picking up a paint brush! I was working at Starbucks at the time and painting peaked my interest when I entered a contest to have my work printed on a ceramic tumbler throughout the US and Canada. Starbucks ended up printing my design which really launched my artist career. From there I became and mom, to my sweet daughter daisy, and have been able to work consistently fulfilling my dreams of being a stay at home mom and artist. My wonderful husband has always supported my career and this year we took a big leap in moving into a converted tiny home, (a short school bus) and traveling all over to be inspired to paint more, and explore the world. I have been selling my work in some boutiques, working on custom projects and selling online though Etsy. I sell my work at other markets around the US. We have been on the road for almost a year, and it has been an amazing adventure and challenge to live small, live simply, and paint in different places while exploring with our almost two year old! Besides being an artist I am also a mom, a wife, a gatherer of people, Jesus follower who loves hiking, coffee, the beach and travel. I surprising love the chaotic juggle of being an artist, a mom in a tiny space. (60 square feet to be exact!) This idea really came to light for us when we were in one of the many beautiful National Parks, Death Valley. We were constantly humbled by the spectacular views and crazy night skies. One of the most epic places to star gaze. We felt so small but realized the beauty of dreaming big, with the greatest artist of all. As we were watching daisy (our daughter) fully immerse herself and discover the earth we were reminded of the wonderment that children have and the beauty and innocence in that. We came up with this concept about challenging others to dream big and to work towards that dream. We live in a broken world, so it is important to stop and stare at the stars and be humbled, amazed and dream with abandon, in a "paper plane" whimsy type of way.
