Sarah Stellino is a self-taught large format film photographer based in Madison, WI. She is a queer woman who is passionate about helping folks feel seen and worthy through portraiture. She has always been fascinated with people and their own personal history and motivations for the things that they want out of life. Originally, she started taking photos when a friend convinced her to take a film photography class in high school. She fell in love with the process, but was still so young and had a lot of growing to do to find her voice and what interested her photographically. Now, she primarily uses large format black and white film, and enjoys taking the process from start to finish by developing her own film and making prints in the darkroom. Film, and large format photography in particular, begets a slow and contemplative process that has helped in the way of creating personally meaningful work.
