I use my camera quite bit these days and I may use a photo or two to create a composition. This paint was started in 2010 while on vacation in Washington D.C. that's when the photos were taken that were used to put together this surreal composition. The sleeping figure was right outside Union Station downtown D.C., she's on a concrete benchlike seat connected to the Columbus monument, and the the other seven figures were at Arlington Cemetary viewing a popular attraction. I decided to paint this surreal scene because we must not forget about the less fortunate, and in this surreal painting "Uncommon Attraction" the seven spectator are subjected to a long hard look at a person that is surely less fortunate. The poverty levels are increasing every day, and just because we don't see them daily during our busy lifestyles, doesn't mean that they're not there.
