Paul Welch was the Chair of the Art Department at Northwestern Michigan College for 27 years. He has taught painting, drawing, design, sculpture, and art history. An active artist, he has also created stained glass windows and mosaics in churches throughout the mid-west. His paintings and other works are held in private and public collections around the country. He has been instrumental in developing the culture of the arts in Northern Michigan through his work at NMC and tireless efforts to bring the Dennos Museum to Traverse City.
