100 Years of Radios and Stories

MSU's School of Journalism, WKAR Radio & College of Nursing

The exhibit has two parts: 1. Snippets of four stories on WKAR Radio 95.5 FM that aired in May 2015 that recount historical events that impacted the lives of individuals who are almost centenarians: 98-year-old Helen Glass of Lansing, 85-year-old Domingo Berlanga of Flint, 90-year-old Katherine Sattler of West Bloomfield and 96-year-old Rudy Aittema of Milford. 2. A display of vintage and modern radios that represent most of the decades since the 1920s. The oldest is the Arborphone, built in 1926 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The newest is the iPod Shuffle - the fourth generation - that debuted in 2010.
