Michele Gort is an artist living and working in Holland, Michigan. Her work is represented by Button Gallery, Douglas, MI, Synchronicity, Glen Arbor, MI and Frames Unlimited, in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor MI. and Ohio. Michele’s works have been shown in one-person and group exhibitions.In 2020 her work was featured in the show March Music at Gallery Uptown, MI. In July 2019 Michele had a solo show at Button Gallery, MI. Michele was also invited to show her work in the MiJuried art exhibit at Holland Art Council, MI. In 2017 Michele won the 2017 Tulip In bloom poster contest with her painting Playful Time. In 2016 Michele placed in the Holland friends of art spring exhibit. In 2013 and 2012 she had a solo show at Lake Effect Gallery. In 2012 she had a show at Calvin College Chapel and Terry Berry Gallery, in Grand Rapids, MI. Michele also had an exhibit in January 2012 at Holland Art Council titled “Letting Paint Be Paint”. Michele has collections in private, health facilities and corporate settings, including Holland Hospital, Pine Rest, and Holland Heath Center, In Zeeland, MI. and McGraw and Morris Law Firm. , Grand Rapids, MI., Mercy Health Women's Center in Muskegon, MI, Metro East in Grand Rapids, Metro Professional building in Wyoming, and Winning at Home, In Zeeland. In 2001 Michele graduated with honors from Kendall College of Art and Design and received the prestigious Studio Elect Award. . a personal note from Michele " I paint and create, not only to decorate environments, but to inspire people. My goal has been met when my paintings are displayed and draw people in to view them closer and to appreciate the depth and rich textures they encompass. I am constantly looking for new ways to improve my work and to manipulate the oil pigment."
