Some describe me as a narrative artist who tells stories with my paintings. It is not my intention to tell linear narratives, but to depict contexturalized social situations that may evoke wide-ranging, open-ended scenarios from viewers' imaginations. This open-endedness enables viewers to engage their encounters in personal ways and ensures that my paintings' meanings are pluralistically connotative and fluid. Originally from Lansing, Michigan, recieved my BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, more recently recieved a MFA from Montclair State University, and for the last eight years have been with the Montclair Art Museum as Manager of Public Programs.
