Marjory Grant Koster was born in 1926 and has lived her entire life in Grand Rapids, MI. She married George Koster in 1946 and had three daughters: Susan, Jeanne and Barbara. The bulk of her art training was through the University of Michigan & Pratt School of Design in New York. She also studied at Aquinas College & G.R. Community College, creating work in pastels, pen and ink, watercolor, oil, acrylic, woodblocks, sculpture & ceramics. She taught adult classes in drawing and watercolor through the Putnam School at the YWCA and children’s art at classes at the West YMCA and in numerous schools. She had many private students and apprentices through the years, participated in Art Reproduction Project-Art Festival and Artist-in-Residence as a printmaker. Her works have been juried and have received awards in numerous art shows at: Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts, Calder Celebration, GVSU, Rochester NY Religious Art Show, G.R. Art Museum & received Woman of The Year Award in G.R.
