Skeletons are forever! My name is Marie Marfia and I am a pastel artist living in Michigan. If you’re looking for art featuring skeletons, you’ve come to the right place. I like to paint skeletons as tourists capering on and around famous landmarks, as figures dancing on the beach or as substitutes for people in classic works of art. They make me laugh, and in my book, that's reason enough to keep doing them. Currently, I am working on several series: Old (Dead) Masters, re-creating historical masterpieces with skeletons; Portraits and people; Landscapes and beach scenes, re-discovering the Ludington area after 10 years away. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I've worked as a graphic designer for nearly 30 years, which has taught me the importance of meeting deadlines and keeping my clients happy. I paint every day and write about my process on my blog. I live and work in Fountain, Michigan with my husband, Steve. We have three brilliant and beautiful children and two lucky dogs.
