Japanese woodblock printmaking is a unique and satisfying way to capture the things I see and feel. The medium has a long history that requires traditional tools, materials and techniques. Everything is done by hand. It is non-toxic and kind to the environment. It has become my way of recording the beauty and strength of nature and communicating my understanding of what surrounds us. The subtle hues and suggestive style of the medium reveal the spirit of the location. For me, a landscape artist, it is a joy to create what I am drawn to using a process that embodies so much of what I admire.
