Greetings Artprize followers and Artists its that time of the year and isnt it exciting?!. Wow! its the 5th Artprize I am participating in thanks to my very kind resident " Michgonian friends" without their generous help, valueable time, fantastic venue and everything that goes into preparing for Artprize I would not be able to enter this incredible competion and be part of an art movement that empowers artists and inspires the art lover. This years artwork is in Acrylic paints on 100% cotton canvas. This art work is Limited Edition Original Artwork and it is for sale just so you know if you want it you can buy it. I do not do reprints or repaints simply because it never comes out the same as the first and that is what I love about my art, it is all a unique and individual piece that you can own that is part of how I see the world out there. Bulawayo Zimbabwe Southern Africa is my current home and although you may not get great news reports on it, it is an amazing place to create art and be inspired. The Kruger Tusker was inspired by my recent visit to the famous Kruger National Park in South Africa earlier this year, it is an incredible national park with huge variety and large numbers of wildlife and the one that caught my eye the most is the huge Tuskers we kept seeing. Many of the large tuskers are 40 to 60 years old! for me as an artist to see these masterpieces in the flesh living and breathing made my determined to paint a legacy so we do not forget them. This has been an amazing year for me as an artist I have been published in Pawtrails.com an online magazine in June/July 2018 and Twin Falls Times Newspaper for the Twin Falls Magic Valley Arts festival in April 2018 where I also submitted artwork for their Art competition they found me through Grand Rapids Artprize! Being self taught Artist who is constantly exploring new art techniques and styles. I draw a variety of things from human portraiture to fun doodling Africa inspired coloring books and alot of animals in between in various styles and mediums. Recently I have ventured into painting on skulls which as a surface has proved to be very interesting indeed it is part of a recycling movement to turn what is thrown away into something beautiful. I am still designing and expanding the coloring books and hope to get them on to Amazon in the new year. I love creating art whether it is for school plays or a private collection. I am always working on several projects at once and often get a little waylaid... All of that you can follow on Facebook Mandy Kehayias Artist or Instagram Mandykehayias_art.
