Lindsey Claire Newman works deeply with intuition and memory to imagine beyond the boundaries of her own lifetime and experience. Her art and writing attempts to distill reality into a lineage of connections between the present moment and all that came before. Lindsey Claire Newman makes mixed media paintings as a method of processing the world around her. Since her formal training at The Rhode Island School of Design in 2007, Lindsey has spent time traveling, farming and cultivating a relationship with the natural world, all the while maintaining a deep commitment to her art, writing and documentation practices. Lindsey lives in Northern Michigan with her husband and son, where she farms flowers in the summer, collecting ideas and making work in spurts. Her deeper practices of writing and focused art production happens throughout the winter.
