I am an emerging artist in the field of fine art photography living in Holland, Michigan. My work is typically bold, colorful and contemporary, often with a minimal presentation. I enjoy capturing light and detail seen only through the eye of the lens. I take ordinary things to make extraordinary images and look for my subject matter in the simple life I live in West Michigan. I don't have a mission or a message. I love to take pictures and edit them in an artistic way. This quote by Saul Leiter about sums it up: "I don’t have a philosophy. I have a camera. I look into the camera and take pictures. My photographs are the tiniest part of what I see that could be photographed. They are fragments of endless possibilities...." I am a member of the Flat River Gallery in Lowell, the Red Lotus Center for the Arts in Muskegon and the Lakeshore Visual Arts Collective. I live in Holland, MI with my husband, son and two cats. This is my first entry in ArtPrize.
