Prayer Flags - Breath

Laura Isaac's avatar Laura Isaac

Based on traditional Tibetan prayer flags where the idea is that the wind carries the wishes, my work Prayer Flags - Breath is an installation of strings of block printed flags. The visual representations of the breath and the ongoing transition from inhale to exhale as the basis of life and meditative practice are apparent in images of lungs. Even when I have nothing else to give, I give my breath. The installation may be walked through / under or simply viewed depending on the wishes of the venue. This work may be viewed in the video embedded below at the 3'50" mark. Any of the works from this video are also available for display during ArtPrize 2011. If you are interested in one of my interactive community-based projects, please let me know.
