Throughout my career as an art consultant, I found it a challenge to find traditional art painted by contemporary artists. From simple geometrics to dream-like surrealism, contemporary art celebrates abstraction in both design & subject. It is very difficult to find a fresh new piece of art that is traditional, representational & just pretty. As I worked to develop my own skills as an artist I had time to consider the kind of artist that I wanted to be. In the end I decided that my art should be vibrant, charming, whimsical, thought-provoking AND pretty. I use a combination of traditional and modern painting techniques and graphic design elements to create works that celebrate more traditional subjects in a new way.
