Born 1977 in Schongau, Germany, a little rural village close to the Bavarian Alps, I trained as a tailor and worked in this profession in Munich, then studied fashion design in Berlin before I found my field in Fine Arts and studied sculpture at Weissensse School of Art in Berlin, Städelschule Frankfurt, and Ecole Des Beaux-Arts, Paris and received an MA from Goldsmiths College in London. My work has been exhibited widely. Upcoming shows this year include the Swiss Art Award in Basel and Affairs, a radio soap-opera which I produce in collaboration with my colleague Marie von Heyl. Affairs received the Deutsche Bank Award for Fine Arts 2013 and will be launched this year. I was supported by a governmental scholarship from Cusanuswerk during my studies and received several awards such as the Chelsea Arts Club Award with Berta Koch Collective in 2013, The Art Award of the German National Bank in 2010, and an Erasmus/Sokrates Scholarship for Paris in 2007. I love working with fabric and enjoy experimenting with the sensual qualities and social implications of the material.
