From Who's Hands

Jody Nix's avatar Jody Nix

This sculpture was created during a graduate assignment at Valparaiso University. The accompanying photograph captures the greatest moment of difficulty for me, leaving the clay behind and moving onto something that attempts to stand the test of time, bronze. Working with a mirror and clay brought me to my "IN FLOW" moments daily with changing genetic expression... visually reflecting my deceased father and mother, my living brothers and sisters, and my children. Returning the clay to the earth after the mold was set for casting was as much of a conversation with God as was being in the room with my family while making it. I would like to exhibit From Who's Hands with the above photograph, and a narrative (see below for more details).
