Being whimsical in terms of my search for logic, specificity of materials, architecture, cities, and perceptions, Jiyon Hong positions herself as a shuttle between specificity, a definite meaning, a firm land, and a poetic elaboration fueled by indeterminacy, abstraction, memory, and perception structures. Jiyon received her BFA from Kookmin University and MFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA. Jiyon has been participating in several shows each year since 2006, had three solo shows including two person show at ARSG gallery LACMA, which is an affiliated gallery of Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Since 2012, Jiyon was selected as Artist in Residence resident and worked in Berlin, Paris, Reykjavik and Keumho Museum, Seoul (KR). She is currently living and working in Pittsburgh, USA.
