Jennifer Zona A.K.A. as Zona was born in Kalamazoo Michigan. Zona grew up in Niles, Michigan where she completed her high school studies. She furthered her studies at the community college in Dowagiac, MI at Southwestern Michigan College. After Zona received her Associate’s degree in Fine Arts, which emphasized in ceramics, she pursued another degree in Fine arts from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids Michigan. Immediately after receiving her Bachelors degree she packed up and moved to New Mexico to further investigate ceramics and weaving; then earning her Masters in Fine Art degree from the University of New Mexico in 2009. Zona continues to create ceramic instillations and weavings in her home in Los Ranchos, a small community outside of Albuquerque. Zona currently is working on a public arts sculpture for the city of Albuquerque; it will be a water feature housed at the N.D.B. Multigenerational Center. The funding for this project will come from the 1% for the Arts.
