Heather Coppinger was born and raised in Oakland County, Michigan. She became passionate about drawing and painting shortly after graduating high school, when her ability to connect with others through art led her to Oakland University. Coppinger received her bachelor's degree, cum laude, in Studio Art in April of 2016. She is currently seeking out opportunities to travel while further developing her body of work before returning to school for her MFA. Her work can be found in private collections throughout southeast Michigan. Coppinger paints arbitrary, magical realistic landscapes that typically portray a scene of chaos and natural beauty. Her landscapes embody her inner, subjective response to nature and to her external environment. Coppinger strives to create a connection between the mundane rituals and perspectives of daily life and the magical. She is influenced by authors including Eckhart Tolle and Wayne Dyer; and painters such as Inka Essenhigh, Vincent van Gough and Salvador Dalí .
