Haruko's art works are made up of the clear of the four seasons in Japan and the form of the dynamic nature of New Zealand. Her paintings skilfully use Japanese traditional and Western art with her unique style. First, she learned Japanese art in Kyoto and then learned Western paintings in Florence, Italy. Her interest is all of the world's art and inspired by natural world. She has been living in Christchurch for 15 years after a opportunity to exhibit her work in New Zealand. She teaches art at her home, schools and rest homes in the area to people of all ages. 2 years ago, She started an art project in community displaying art work done by herself and others in the area at their local library and different community events. Her goal with this project is to invite many people to join with her art and feel connected. Her intention is that world will be one through art.
