Gary Fouts graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Astronomy from San Diego State University in 1977. He spent ten years in the field: As Director of the Goldendale Observatory, Washington, as an Observer at Mt. Wilson Observatory, working on the Halo Mapping Project of the Milky Way Galaxy, and he was the first Console Operator of the Hubble Space Telescope. In 1988 he became a Professor of Astronomy at Santa Monica College. He has recently pioneered a course in Archeoastronomy, and his research for this class has led Gary on various adventures in seeing and studying new cultures. He has obtained passport stamps from places like China, Mexico, Italy, Egypt, England, New Zealand, Australia, and even Peru and Bolivia. Gary has studied the local people to understand their culture's roots in Astronomy. Gary's passion in art is found through photography. He enjoys capturing the essence of objects and concepts through carefully composed images. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
