Francisco Pinheiro (Lisbon, 1981) is a visual artist and his practice revolves around the medium of drawing and installation. Working with notions of time, meaning and the contradictions nested in our collective narratives, Francisco has been exhibiting in different art spaces notably: Galeria 111 (Lisbon, PT), Instituto Camões (Lisbon, PT), A Montra (Lisbon, PT), The Old Mint (San Francisco, CA), Diego Rivera Gallery (San Francisco, CA), 1038 Project Space (San Francisco, CA), Contemporary Art Museum of Elvas (Elvas, PT), Camões Municipal Library (Lisbon, PT), Espaço Campanhã (Porto, PT), or Módulo Gallery (Lisbon, PT). From November 2014 til March 2015, he was an artist-in-residence at Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa (Lisbon, PT). In 2014, he and Luísa Salvador created West Coast art collective, through which they have participated in various events and exhibitions. Francisco holds an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute (USA, 2014) as a Fulbright/Carmona e Costa Foundation scholar.
