Heavily invested in and surrounded by arts and crafts from a young age, I've always had an interest in creating. A frequent participant in art shows throughout my schooling, I pushed the boundaries to create something unique to stand out in a time of peer similarity. From creative writing, to producing content for the local access TV station, and eventually on the stage and tech crew, I found a passion for translating ideas creatively for others. After high school, I went on to earn an AA in Telecommunications (Media) from Henry Ford Community College. Four years later, I was awarded a BFA from the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan. During my studies there, I had the unique opportunity to sample as many artistic mediums as I had time for. I discovered paper as my medium of choice pretty early into my coursework. I took classes in graphic design, and managed to weave paper sculpture into what I was learning. For my thesis, I created Cyclical, a 3-D paper sculpture installation that explored light & shadow, color gradients, and mindfulness. Since 2016, I've worked under excellenteb art & design to produce paper art, graphic design, and creative solutions.
