Erica Millbrooks Erica Millbrooks is a professional clothing designer, quilt artist and the creator of Shades So Sweet, a line of African American made, handcrafted soft sculpture dolls. Erica Millbrooks is a wife, mother of three, clothing designer, teacher, facilitator, and business women who is active in the community. She is a graduate of Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta Georgia where she majored in fashion design. For the past 20 years she has designed and altered wedding gowns, special occasion dresses, custom clothing and accessories. Mrs. Millbrooks is the Threads Class adult sewing instructor/coordinator at Baxter Community Center in Grand Rapids Michigan, where she shares her love of quilting, batik, tye-dye and bold ethnic prints and fabrics. The Threads class focuses on the art of quilting and its history. She also shares her talent with young people as the Mentoring Coordinator in Baxter’s Mizizi Maji Mentoring program.
