Lynne developed her interest in collage while teaching childrens art and studying life drawing. An art major and education minor at WMU, Lynne taught art in public schools in Grand Rapids, MI, then became a private art teacher for children. She has continued her work with children and adults through numerous artist in residence programs. Lynne was commissioned to design and create the Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts poster in 2002. She has exhibited widely and received multiple honors. Her work can be seen at Synchronicity Gallery in Glen Arbor, MI. Lynne's torn paper collages have a life of their own. She draws the viewer in as close as possible to see the "details" that tell the whole story. Most of her collages include hidden items, words, or tiny images that are significant to the composition. Her work often reflects a statement of current social issues. Her work is often referred to as "paintings with paper" because the tiny pieces of paper resemble a dab of paint.
These are E. Lynne's official ArtPrize entries from this year and past years.
