One of the most influential painters in Deb's earlier years was the late Australian artist, John Piesley. She enjoyed camaraderie with other artists and the warm, encouraging atmosphere created by Mr. Piesley as he taught. This positive learning environment served as a model for Deb's future years as a painting instructor in her own private studio. Having a proclivity to motivate, encourage, and bring out the best in each student, Deb's love of teaching continues to inspire others to love their craft and strive for excellence. Deb's medium of choice is oil painting. She believes that every subject has its own intrigue, but it all breaks down into the abstract elements of design, expressed through shape, value, color, and edges. Her frequent travels have been a source of inspiration, particularly the beautiful countryside of Tuscany and the rich diversity of the Israeli landscape. Her most recent works include a series of landscapes of New York's beautiful Genesee Valley.
