I was born in New Hampshire in 1952. I went to high school in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I did 2 years at the University of Hartford, Hartford Art school and then transferred to the University of Colorado where I graduated with a BFA degree in 1975. I currently split my time between living in Colorado and Bocas del Toro Panama. I am married with 3 daughters and 3 Grand children. After graduating from CU, my wife and I opened an art gallery in Boulder co. where we did monthly exhibits of local artists, and operated a design studio and picture framing shop. I served on the board of directors for the Boulder Center for Visual Arts for 3 years. In 1981 we moved to Long Island NY where I worked as an exhibiting artist in galleries in NY, and was represented by Dumont Landis corporate art dealer. At a young age I realized I would need a second career to support my art during low economic markets, so I used my art talent in designing houses and became a design builder for residential housing. My art inspired my designs, and my construction supported my art. This freed me to produce the art I wanted to produce rather then produce art that I knew would sell. I did not want the money to influence the art I produced. To this day the pictures I make are inspired solely by my desire to express my creative sole with no concerns for financial gain. I am most fulfilled when I am in my studio creating purely for the sake of expressing myself in my art.
