Born and raised in Rapid City, SD, I have had a lifelong love of art, science, and nature. As both a scientist and artist, I feel that I have a unique, experimental approach to art that gives my art an individual style and feel. I studied photography and glass at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, and got an environmental science degree. There, I started experimenting with body prints. Initially an exercise in shapes and prints, it was a huge step towards me embracing my figure and shape. In August 2013, I moved to the Caribbean coast of Mexico. As a former competitive swimmer and lover of the water, one of my pastimes there was swimming in mermaid tail that I made. My mermaid swims inspired me to body paint and work on a larger scale again. My newest collections are somewhat of a science project as well as a jump into the fantasy of the existence of mermaids.
