Born in Northwest Indiana, twenty minutes from the sands of the south shore and an hour train ride to beautiful Chicago IL, I draw my influences from my surroundings. Nature and Industry lying hand in hand on the beaches of Lake Michigan makes for an interesting mixture of the two. It’s not hard to see my influences from my surroundings. The grunge of this pollution filled area shines through and the beauty of industrial line holds strong in my works. Growing up in this area I was naturally drawn to Chicago. After my completion of high school I escaped my suburban life style and tried my hand in the big city. Enrolling at the American Academy of Art led me to my mentor and good friend Bobby Joe Scribner. A professor at the academy and a free lance sculptor, Bobby Joe introduced me to many influential individuals and started my love for sculpture. I have chosen to continued in my education at Ball State University, where I have been working toward my BFA of sculpture, under Kenton Hall
