Born in Toronto, Canada, Catherine McClung now resides in west Michigan. The area’s woods and waters are the necessary inspiration for photography and painting. She has painted a wide array of designs for the Lenox china company. During the holiday season, thousands of china collectors and bird lovers will be displaying and dining on dinnerware decorated with patterns made famous by this Spring Lake artist. The vibrant colors of flowers and birds emerge from her paintings, creating a blend of design and information. Catherine has created migratory bird posters for seven states. She represented Michigan with an ornament for the White House Christmas tree and was featured on HGTV’s “White House Artisans”. Perhaps, her proudest achievement has been her selection for the world’s most prestigious "Birds in Art" exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Recently the museum has purchased two of her works for their permanent collection. Catherine illustrated a children’s book entitled “The Far-Flung Adventures of Homer the Hummer”.
