I am a gatherer of the used, broken and forgotten treasures. My medium is Assemblage/ Mixed Media. The process of gathering materials and repurposing them into something meaningful and beautiful gives me great pleasure. Recycling of everyday items that I use has been an interest of mine since the late 70's. This project is called A Woman's Place: On the Farm, early 1900s; In the Kitchen, Mid 1950s; Where Decisions Are Made, 2021. I was inspired by the late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg who said that women belong where decisions are being made. I chose to use vintage photos for all three pieces to acknowledge the work that women did through the years to get women to a place where they are making decisions in the world.
