Bryce has been a professional sculptor for 16 years. His college studies were in the field of biology and ecology. Bryce applies this knowledge to infuse life into his pieces, but more importantly, there is an appreciation of the animals' character and personality that is visible in the work. "I feel that the best artwork is created by paring down the design to only what is necessary to tell the story. A simple design creates a more powerful impact because the connection is direct and pure." he says. For example, "The Butterfly Effect" is created by using just the butterflies themselves to create the composition. The beautiful individual butterflies combine with the architecture of the space itself and because there is no framework or boundaries that confine them, you feel a more direct connection. You feel that you are a part of the migration, not just seeing an image of one. "I love the concept of 'the butterfly effect'; small actions can make a huge difference."
