Brenda Sipe, originally from Berne, IN, is the founding Director of Continuing Education at Northern Arizona University. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University, and she is the author of scholarly articles. She has taught art at several local colleges and at Interlochen Arts Camp, currently at Kellogg Community College. Her works with both traditional and experimental materials are heavily influenced by nature. Her work evolves intuitively, with pieces being reworked multiple times to achieve clarity of vision and purpose. In October 2017 she traveled to Seoul, Korea for an invitational exhibition at Lee Seoul Gallery in Insadong. Her collaborators and fellow artists for this exhibition, "Parallel Lines," were InSoon Felch, Sharon Sandberg-Kerr, and Sunsook Roh. Brenda's solo exhibitions have included Jasper Arts Center, Indiana, (2015), Alma College (2014), Forest Hills Fine Arts Center, and West Shore Community College, (2013). In 2013 she was an artist-in-residence at Golden Apple Studios, and her oil monotype, "Migrate", was exhibited in Printmaking 2013 at SUNY/Geneseo, and in an invitational show at Castleton-on-Hudson, NY. She has been part of numerous group exhibitions throughout the Midwest, and has participated in ArtPrize five times. In 1996, she traveled to Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where her paintings and sculptures were installed in a group exhibition, "Deschideti USA", at Academia de'Arte. Brenda has a B.F.A. in Painting from Grand Valley State University, and M.F.A. from Michigan State University.
