Are you planning your visit to ArtPrize Eight? Are you wondering what’s the best way to travel to and around the event? Look no further, we have your answer—take the bus!
Purchase an ArtPrize Metro Pass for just $5, and you can catch a ride with The Rapid. Spending just five bucks (one time) will get you unlimited rides on the Silver Line, and 10 rides on The Rapid’s fixed routes. When rates are usually $1.50 per ride, this amazing deal will provide transportation for the entire 19-day event.
Starting in mid-September, head to any of the seven area Meijer Park & Ride locations to pick up your Metro Pass and park your car (for free!)—then hop on the next available bus with through service to downtown. Bundled with your Metro Pass will be the ArtPrize Eight Event Guide and Map to help you navigate the event with ease.
Love the Silver Line? Pick up your Metro Pass at the 54th and Clyde Park Meijer and head to the Silver Line Park & Ride lot at 60th and Division. The Silver Line provides a sleek experience with fare boxes at each station, and a countdown clock to tell you exactly when the next bus is coming. This simple, quick route is an ideal way to get around downtown. Plus, all ArtPrize Eight Pathways connect to a Silver Line stop, to get you started on your ArtPrize adventure.
Starting September 1, DASH will be streamlined for more efficient routes and faster service. Park on the edges of downtown, and DASH West and North will take you to the center of the ArtPrize action for free. Download the myStop app so you can track The Rapid's buses in real-time for a seamless trip.
While you’re riding, be sure to check out the ArtPrize Mobile App—available for free for iOS and Android devices—to find venues, events, and the full list of 1,453 artists entries, and create your own lists to share with your friends. Once you’re downtown, follow the Pantone Pathway markers to the nearest Neighborhood HUB to begin your ArtPrize exploration.
Already downtown? Stop by your nearest Neighborhood HUB—including the ArtPrize HUB/HQ—to pick up a Metro Pass starting September 14. Whether you take the bus to ArtPrize, walk the nearly ten miles of Pathways or bring your bike—each alternative transportation solution helps reduce the environmental impact of the event.By Jillynn Reese on
