  • Critical Discourse returns tonight at 7 p.m. with Why These Finalists? (Part 1) Broadcast live on WOOD TV8, a panel of three art experts will discuss half of the public and juried finalists in a lively, humorous, and irreverent debate. Panelists include Jillian Steinhauer, senior editor of Hyperallergic of New York; Anila Quayyum Agha, artist and 2014 ArtPrize winner from Indianapolis and Nicole Caruth, artistic director for exhibitions and public engagement at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha.
  • Drop by Rosa Parks Circle and check out the West Michigan Honda Design And Drive competition entries—vote for your favorite now through until October 8!
  • ArtPrize Labs: Drop-In Studio continues today from 12 to 6 p.m. Visit the Access Art Lounge at 50 Monroe with your family for a self-directed creative experience. This program was designed in partnership with Teaching Artist, Kelly Allen.

ArtPrize Tonight:

  • The Eddy—a 10-day festival in downtown Grand Rapids continues today with a great lineup. Stage shows begin at 6 p.m. with other activities running throughout the day. Check out showtimes on the ArtPrize blog.

Next Milestone Event:

Part 2. Broadcast live on WOOD TV8, a panel of three art experts will discuss half of the public and juried finalists in a lively, humorous, and irreverent debate. Panelists include Sarah Schultz, independent curator, New York; Crimson Rose, co-founder of Burning Man, the Black Rock Arts Foundation and Burning Man Project, San Francisco; Edward Winkleman, writer and gallery owner, New York.
