- Critical Discourse -- powered by ITC, Your Energy Superhighway -- continues tonight at 7 p.m. in The HUB theatre with a panel focused on Art & Activism -- Speakers including Taylor Aldridge and Jessica Lynne co-founders of ARTS.BLACK, Detroit and New York; Suhaly Bautista-Carolina, Engagement & Education Manager at Creative Time, New York and artist, Dread Scott will address important contemporary social justice efforts such as #BlackLivesMatter, and how art is situated at the forefront of these movements.

Critical Discourse returns October 5 at 7 p.m. with Why These Finalists? -- Broadcast live on WOOD TV8 -- a panel of three art experts will discuss half of the public and juried finalists in a lively, humorous, and irreverent debate. Panelists include Jillian Steinhauer, senior editor of Hyperallergic, New York; Lisa Freiman, director of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Institute for Contemporary Art, Richmond; Anila Quayyum Agha, artist and 2014 ArtPrize winner, Indianapolis.
