Ariana Caro Sabogal was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She spends her childhood traveling to her parent’s home towns: Santiago de Chile and Lima, Peru. Is in Santiago were her painter grandmother introduces her to her workshop and open her eyes into the artistic world. At the age of 10 she and her family move to Lima were she starts exploring analog, digital and studio photography. After finishing high school with honors in arts she studies architecture in Bogota, Colombia where she emphasizes on painting, art history and photography. The fact of being surrounded by different cultures along her life leads her to emphasize and rescue each of the aspects that somehow marked her growth and induce her to pursue a constant exploration of the richness found in every situation. Having architecture and interior design as a guideline, she manages to translate materials as tools to evoke life volatile sites. Thus, from her work she seeks to recreate emotions from ephemeral experiences and capture those fragments of inner connection developed from within nature or human contact as a tool to question the place and action of every spectator.
