I am primarily a formalist artist and I create with a strong emphasis on instinctual process. The sculptures in my body of work are dictated by spontaneity, with extensive planning being limited to keep the works in a continuous state of flux. The works are constantly tweaked and manipulated until their structure and coloring are complimentary of one another. The sculptures invoke a cheeky aesthetic, which correlates to the playful process in which they were made. Much of the work incorporates both organic forms and geometric or mass-produced elements, where they contrast and create a dialogue between the rectilinear and the organic. Form is of the utmost importance in my work, I use it to create the relationship between the organic and the manufactured. The sculptures are intended to entice with an assorted pastel color palette, lively textures, and various lively forms.
