My name is Amnestie Lillian-Tate VerDuin, and I am a multimedia artist currently living and working in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I received my BFA from Central Michigan University in 2017. I am currently an art educator, and I produce most of my artwork from my home studio. Throughout my artistic journey, I have been drawn to traditional, hands-on ways of working because these processes were prevalent in my childhood. Conceptually, I use string manipulation to show social communication or the lack of, cutting ties, or reconstruction. Larger in size, my work alters the viewer's pathway to activate the surrounding spaces and encourage the possibility of new interactions.
