Winner of the ArtPrize 2013 “pop/electronic” genre (St. Cecilia Music Center), Amanda Vernon is a full-time, independent recording artist and composer. Growing up in Grand Rapids as the oldest of seven children, Amanda resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three young children. Through a genre she calls, “soulful pop,” Amanda speaks to authentic beauty through music, the language of the soul. She has shared her message across the United States and in six foreign countries, including: the 2008 and 2011 World Youth Days in Sydney, Australia and Madrid, Spain; and Lambeau Field for the Green Bay Packers (August 2014 and September 2015). “I’m thrilled about returning to this incredible art competition! I wrote 'Justice for All' to shed light on a few of the injustices in our country today. I believe the United States will become a more perfect union when each citizen chooses good in the face of evil, joy in the midst of despair, and love in the wake of indifference. Standing for justice in our own unique situations reveals the hero in each of us.” -Amanda Vernon
