Alice Hawks has been creative since her childhood in a small town in Southwestern Michigan when she made items from a variety of textiles, sketched, wrote poetry and short stories, and took photographs. As a young college graduate, she put aside her creative pursuits to concentrate on a career in business for over twenty years until restlessness in her soul brought her back to her creative beginnings. Alice enjoys natural light photography, especially landscapes and wildlife. She is the author of “Slow Death by Corporate Life: A Journey to Breaking Free”. She has had several of her photographs shown in juried exhibitions from Georgia to MI: The Art of Georgia, Portraits of a Community at the Georgia State Capitol; WOMEN, An Exhibit (Detroit, MI); Southeastern Horticultural Society Photography Show; Images of Nature Exhibit; Images of Inman Charity Photography Show; and first place winner, 2013 Decatur Cemetery Photo Contest.
