"Found Blooms" Mural

Dania Grevengoed's avatar Dania Grevengoed

This mural references wildflowers and hyper local blooms that begin to show in West Michigan during the fade of summer to fall. All referenced plants were found within eyesight of where the container is placed. I love the idea of blowing up plants and leaves that can be found on the ground a moment away from mural itself, but that may not have been noticed by the crowd before. It pays tribute to the small simple growth in the midst all the din and activity. The design references native wildflowers found within eyesight of site. Found blooms include goldenrod, Pennsylvania smartweed, joe pye weed, and evening primrose.
