Connected - a site specific installation that reflects the architecture, art, and design of Calder Plaza through an organic expression of the artist's true self. Inspired by MCM, graffiti, and Korean calligraphy, Han takes a look at material and place to examine how we are all connected. It's a simple truth that's challenging to see. In "Connected" Han expresses Korean-American identity through bronze that connects his royal ancestors who at meals off of bbanja (Korean bronzeware) to the bronze used in the civic buildings of Calder Plaza. "Connected" also unites artists/designers from different eras, both inspired by balance and the harmony between organic and geometric shapes. In "Connected" Han draws inspiration from Calder, Haring, Mies Van der Rohe, and Korean royalty.
